Thirsting for a Clear Cause

IA Launches the Cause that Refreshes

Spring Lake, Mich., September 17, 2008 - International Aid (IA) has been a critical responder to many causes since its founding 28 years ago. Now, the health-focused humanitarian agency is launching its own Clear Cause Campaign to raise money both for getting HydrAidTM BioSand Water Filters to families in the developing world – and for the benefit of churches, schools and other charitable groups who come alongside IA.

The Clear Cause Campaign seeks to draw greater attention in the developed world to the critical lack of access to safe water for more than 1 billion people in poor nations. The campaign supports the distribution of International Aid’s innovative and life-promoting HydrAidTM filters in needy households in Honduras and other developing countries.

Through the sale of Clear Cause purified bottled water at $2 per 20-ounce bottle, International Aid will put the proceeds to work in manufacturing HydrAidTM filters for families who lack safe water access. Church. School and civic groups participating in the fundraising effort will receive $3 for each 6-pack of Clear Cause water sold, and $12 for each case of 24-bottles.

“It’s a win-win,” said Sandy Hudson, IA’s Vice President of Advancement and Communications. “Water for you becomes safe water for families in the Third World. And as a fundraiser, it’s also a win-win. IA gets enough to cover the cost of the water and to fund HydrAidTM filters, and schools and churches get to keep 25 percent of the proceeds to support their own projects and organizational needs.”

Hudson said he expects Clear Cause water to be available at selected retail stores, purchased for staff gatherings and used in local fundraising efforts across West Michigan.

“Everyone deserves safe water,” he said. “We think Clear Cause will be a healthy and refreshing way to make a clear difference for needy families in the world. So many of us take safe water for granted, and Clear Cause helps move us to a more thoughtful and caring place.”
