HydrAid™ Installation Training
By: Kurt Reppart
The list of partners who have come through our new training center to learn how to install HydrAid™ filters is now at 24 and growing. It is exciting to think about the many ways this training will have an impact around the world. Each participant learns the history of HydrAid™, goes through the entire process of installation and receives an introduction to the importance of a health and sanitation program. Our goal is that everyone who goes through the training leaves at the end of the day as an advocate for HydrAid™. These individuals, churches and organizations will be installing the filters themselves as well as training indigenous leaders in their respective countries. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the training was the connections that were made between the partners who are working in similar regions. I am thrilled when I think about the number of countries covered in just the first two training session.
Here is a listing of the organizations and churches who have been trained and where they are working:
Rotary International – Dominican Republic / Nigeria
Granger Community Church – Southern India
Bloomington Evangelical Free Church – Southern India
G.L.O.W. International – Haiti
Ridgepoint Community Church – Dominican Republic
Nyaka AIDS Orphans School - Uganda
A Vision for Clean Water – Nepal
Butzel Long Law Firm – China
I want to thank Bob Miller (IA Staff Member) for his incredible layout design and for his thoughtful attention to detail and Leo Smith for his work in putting the training center together in a short timeframe. I am also grateful for the excellent presentation that Dr. Talens has created about Health and Sanitation. Without those components the training would not have been possible.
